Description

The DGS-1008P PoE Gigabit Desktop Switch allows office users to connect and control Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices like wireless access points (APs), IP cameras, and IP phones at a low cost. It also helps you to connect more Ethernet equipment to a network, such as laptops, printers, and Network Attached Storage (NAS). This small PoE switch has Gigabit ports for higher speeds and runs silently, making it suitable for use in almost any space or office. Furthermore, D-Green Link’s Ethernet technology conserves energy both when the switch is active and when it is inactive.

Control over Ethernet is plug-and-play (PoE)

The IEEE 802.3af PoE standard is supported by the DGS-1008P’s first four ports. Each of these four ports can deliver up to 15.4 Watts, making it an ideal solution for applications that are located far from power outlets or when extra power supplies are not needed. ‘The’

There is no need to configure the switch because it will automatically detect the power that a connected PoE system needs. In the event of an accidental PoE overload, a failsafe mechanism would cut off the electricity, protecting both the switch and the connected computer.

Role of cable diagnostics

When the DGS-1008P is switched on, it runs a micro diagnostics routine to verify the integrity of the Ethernet cables connected to it. If a fault is found, the switch’s front panel LEDs will glow, making it simple for the consumer to troubleshoot wiring issues.

Quality of Service (Quality of Service)

Despite being an unmanaged, Plug and Play switch, the DGS-1008P will identify network traffic by analyzing the current 802.1p and DSCP fields in Ethernet frames and IP packets, and forwarding traffic from its ports based on priority. This facilitates seamless integration of video, voice, and data traffic with no delays or quality degradation.
